What foods should I be eating?

It’s a question we hear a lot. Usually in a state of panic.

The confusion comes with all the foods that have been demonised, then celebrated. Or celebrated, then demonised. As you can see, it’s already getting complicated!

Can I eat eggs?

Is pasta ok?

What about cheese?

Just some of the common questions we get at K1.

To add to the confusion, we have food classifications. Is it mostly protein? Carbs? Fats? Some of you may know that you need to eat a mix of these, but what does that look like in reality?

So we’ve put together this simple, but not exhaustive list (see below) to help you make better choices, regardless of your nutrition knowledge.

Think progress, not perfection.

The second step in the world of nutrition confusion, is how much do you need to eat?

This is a tricky one for most, as unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” approach. How many calories do I need and how much of that need to be protein, carbs and fats?

This all depends on what your goal is and your starting point?

Lose weight?

Gain weight?

The amount of food you need to consume each day will differ. Not only that but as you lose/gain weight, that amount will change alongside it.

Which is why at K1 we work with each and every client to determine their nutrition needs; Simplifying the process, so they can focus on training consistently and creating positive eating habits.

Plus, eating food shouldn’t be restrictive, there’s room for the foods you enjoy, it’s just a case of understanding the when and why.

So, if you’ve got a night out planned, you’ve got the tools to incorporate it in, without compromising your results.
